This week we finished up our resumes (good work, by the way. I saw some really outstanding resumes!) and also Web Gazette Stage 3.
We talked about optimizing images and started the 100K Scuba assignment. This is when the real fun begins.

This week we finished and our html resumes. We used CSS to make them pretty, and learned lots about CSS along the way.
On Thursday, after we looked at and critiqued one another’s resumes, we finally finished Web Gazette! Yay! However, this final iteration of Web Gazette is not due until Tuesday, Feb. 14 (just in case they need a bit of work still.)
Next week, we’ll explore web graphics in depth and do the dreaded Scuba assignment.
Assignment due Friday, Feb 3
Web Gazette Stage 2 should be done and uploaded by this time. I will download your finished stage 2′s and look at them over the weekend, however, so you can have feedback. Click here for more information about turning Stage 1 into Stage 2.

This week we plunged into CSS and finished Web Gazette Stage 2. We started work on creating html resumes.
Tuesday, February 7 will be mostly a day to work on resumes. I’ll probably present a couple of techniques, too.

You’re all becoming pretty good at writing HTML, having learned (or “learnt,” as they say in the Cotswolds) uls and lis and ps and blockquotes and many other elements. Yay! And you can embed images in websites, and create links to other pages. You are tasting the awesome power of html. So good work this week.
Next week, we’ll dive into CSS, to make our Web Gazette pages more beautiful. And! We may start thinking about our first assignment that calls upon your creativity – creating online resumes.
